    Basic Guide

Some time ago I attended a CBS club meeting where several new members were present. The general opinion was that it was difficult for 'newbies' to gather basic information, as the majority of articles assumed that the reader had at least grasped the rudiments of the subject, when most likely the people who most needed the information, probably had no idea what they needed to know, let alone how to go about getting hold of that information.

That confirmed what Cage & Aviary Birds Editor Colin Mitchell had suspected for some time, and a series of basic articles was launched, aimed at encouraging newcomers. The series will cover canaries and other varieties also, so that as wide a range of new birdkeepers can benefit as possible.

I hope it helps. It will not answer every question you may have, but hopefully will provide confirmation of the steps you have already taken, or are about to take, and possibly give you some 'food for thought.' If you have a question that is not answered, please email and ask me. I will try to respond quickly, to benefit you and others who may have similar queries.
